About RARA LAKE TOUR ( 3 DAYS)

The Rara Lake Tour is a unique journey designed for those who wish to experience the beauty of one of Nepal’s most remote and serene locations, without the need for extensive trekking. The adventure combines the convenience of a flight with light walking around the lake and its surroundings, offering an exclusive and scenic experience.

You’ll take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Once you reach there, you will take another flight to Talcha. Both flights are of short duration, taking less than an hour, and can easily be done on the same day. As you fly, you will see stunning aerial views of the Himalayan ranges, lush green valleys, and winding rivers, giving you a bird’s-eye view of rural Nepal. The next day you will take a short hike to reach your main destination. After just a few hours of an easy hike, you will be in the presence of Rara Lake, Nepal’s largest freshwater lake.

The next day is set aside for exploring the lake and surrounding villages. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the lakeshore, taking in the beauty of the lake, the surrounding pine forests, and the distant snow-capped peaks. The atmosphere is tranquil, and you’ll have the chance to appreciate the stillness and untouched nature of the area. You’ll stay at a lakeside lodge or camp for the night, with stunning views of the water and the surrounding landscape. You will also take a short hike to Murma Top, from where you can see the village as well as Rara Lake from the top.

Depending on your interests, you have the option to take a boat ride on the lake or visit Rara National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including the red panda and himalayan thar, or simply sit by the water and absorb the peaceful environment. The area is perfect for those who enjoy quiet reflection, photography, or simply unwinding amidst nature. After spending the day here, you’ll return to your accommodation for another peaceful evening by the lake. The following day, you will begin your return journey following the same route.
