Difficulty: Challenging—technical pass, 6-8hr days, peak of 5,130m. Previous 4,500m+ hikes essential; 3-4 months worth of training (stair climber, cardio workouts, and also carrying a backpack weighing 10kg).
When to Go Best time: Spring (Mar–May: rhododendrons, stable snow), autumn (Sep–Nov: clear views). Day 10-25°C, nights -15 °C to -20 °C, high camps.
Gear Rental: Sleeping Bag ($35), Down Jacket ($35), Crampons/Axe (if needed, via your guide from Kathmandu shops/companies).
Fitness: Trek- Walk on an average of 4 km per hour, consume less oxygen and acclimate fast. Guides take oximeters, first-aid supplies, and a satellite phone for emergencies.
Group Size: Max 14—small, personal. Private/custom available.
Water/Food: Purified via filters/tablets (sustainable). Veggie choices are abundant; garlic helps with altitude.
Connectivity: Teahouse WiFi ($3-5), guide phones. Solar charging extra.
